Responsible for assisting in the overall day to day operations of the Distribution department. This includes the transfer of reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens between the laboratory and the client office or hospital. Responsible for providing assistance to the client in regard to problems, information, special requirements, etc. and keeping the laboratory leadership team informed in regard to client needs. Maintains departmental operating policies and procedures. Oversees that the employees adhere to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety.
Will assist to maintain departmental expenses and productivity by coming up with new or better ideas and help implement them as new procedures.
Will be responsible to maintain overall operations and help cover for their immediate supervisor when they are out of the office or on vacation.

Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to the laboratory. Adheres to all laboratory policies and regulations. Works with minimal direction. Functions as a liaison between the organization and the organization’s customers. Operates general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computer keyboards and CRT. Effectively communicates via written, verbal, face-to-face, telephone, and computer methods. Operates a conventional vehicle (car, truck, and/or van).
Education and Experience:
Minimum- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred- Previous supervisory experience.
Skills: Ability to write accurate and concise memos and required correspondence. Ability to collect and analyze data using statistical methods. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and with organization’s customers.
Reports to the Distribution Supervisor.
Physical Requirements: Requires light to medium lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires manipulation of tools, objects, and equipment using the following physical motions: pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching above shoulder height, grasping with both hands, pinching with thumb and forefinger, twisting with hand and wrist, lifting up, lifting down, and reaching under. Routinely requires coordination of two or more physical operations
Environmental Demands: Works in temperature controlled environment with some days outside driving or riding with employees as needed.
